Christmas - a time of giving
At a time when children are asking, 'Is Santa in my bubble?', you begin to realise just how hard a year it has been. This year, more than ever, it is important that we remember those less fortunate than ourselves.
Step Teachers has always tried to help support its local community so we've donated £1,000 to the Trussell Trust, who support a network of over 420 food banks, which operate out of more than 1,230 centres across the UK, to provide emergency food to people in crisis.
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. This year, Coronavirus has added to those reasons. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with food banks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown, and mental health problems.
So, at a time when your inbox would be full of sales and discount accounts encouraging you to rush to the virtual high streets, please spare a thought for those struggling to feed themselves this Christmas.
If you would like you to make a donate please do so here or to find your nearest food bank here.
What's happened to my Christmas Card?
Many of you will remember our traditional company staff photograph used for our official Step Teachers Christmas card. Well for the past 4 years we have chosen to send you a digital card with the money being donated to the Trussell Trust instead. However, for those of you who like to enjoy a photo; here's the teams Covid secure trip to the shops.
