South London

A short history of our South London branch:

September 2016 saw Step Teachers take its first step south of the river and opened its fifth branch. Our home was Shakespeare House and the location was Clapham Junction. Before Covid and the emergence of remote working, we’d always tried to make it as easy as possible for teachers and support staff to register with Step Teachers. That meant making it easy to get to the office! So, what better place to open our office than next to Clapham Junction Railway Station; one of London’s major railway station and transport hub near St John's Hill in south-west Battersea in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

With a changing of the guard in the summer of 2018 and our new Manager Chris, with Sam and Lily in toe made the move across London to an even more famous location – London Bridge! From Three Tuns House, the team continued to recruit teacher and support staff from South and East London.

Boyed by our success at becoming preferred suppliers for Hertfordshire County Council and the DfE’s & Crown Commercial Services’ Supply Teachers Framework, our tender writing team had further success in August 2019 when the branch became Preferred Supplier for The Harris Federation. Thanks to our local presents, we were able to meet demand by recruiting the best local teaching talent! ​
