Are you a passionate and talented recent Graduate looking for an exciting opportunity in Secondary schools in Okehampton or its surrounding areas? Step Teachers are working alongside Secondary schools in Okehampton who are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors for daily supply to cover a variety of lessons, without planning or marking.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic progress and personal development of our students, while also ensuring the smooth operation of the school through cover supervision duties. You will work closely with students, teachers, and senior leadership to deliver high-quality education and maintain a positive learning environment.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Work as a Cover Supervisor during teacher absence, ensuring that pre-prepared work is completed and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
- Uphold the school's behaviour management policies and intervene as necessary to address any disruptions or issues that arise during cover supervision.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to contribute to the development of schemes of work, resources, and assessment materials.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other school events as required.
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree – obtained within the last 5 years or have at least 6 months of experience within the UK at a Secondary school as a Cover supervisor that can be referenced.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate students.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced educational environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team as a Cover Supervisor.
- Flexibility to take on cover supervision duties as required.
