Job description
This school is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage students in the study of English literature and language, helping them to develop critical thinking skills and a love for reading and writing. This role begins March 2025.
Duties as an English Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Develop and implement a range of teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students
- Assess, track, and report on students’ progress, setting individual targets and providing feedback to help them reach their full potential
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love for literature and creative expression
- Encourage and support students to develop their written, oral, and analytical skills
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the English curriculum
- Provide guidance and support for students' personal and academic development
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to enhance student learning
Ideal English Teacher:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Be passionate about English language and literature
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and the ability to engage students in creative ways
- Have strong organisational and planning skills
- Be committed to providing a positive and inclusive learning experience for all students as an English Teacher.
- Be a reflective practitioner eager to continuously develop and improve their teaching practice
