Step Teachers are collaborating with a Secondary school in Redbridge that is looking for a Food and Nutrition Subject Lead to start on a long-term basis in January 2025. This school fosters a friendly environment where students are cared for, and the leadership prioritizes educating pupils on the significance of equality and diversity.
Food and Nutrition Subject Lead – Role:
- The Food and Nutrition Subject Lead should take overall responsibility for the teaching and learning of the department.
- Strong Food and Nutrition curriculum knowledge at KS3 & 4.
- Direct and support staff in the classroom where applicable.
- Ability to assess and report on your students when required .
- Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
- Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively.
- The Food and Nutrition Subject Lead must meet with Senior Leaders to report the progress of the department and the performance of staff and students.
Food and Nutrition Subject Lead- Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Good classroom management.
- Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching Food and Nutrition in a secondary school.
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their best .
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young learners.
- Experience as a subject lead is advantageous.
- Enhanced DBS.
- A Relevant subject-specific degree is desirable.
