Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a dedicated team at a wonderful school. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students by bringing the past to life and helping them develop critical thinking, analytical, and research skills.
The successful candidate will teach KS3 & KS4 (KS5 if applicable), delivering engaging lessons that explore significant historical events, figures, and themes while encouraging a passion for learning. This role begins April 2025.
History Teacher Duties:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging History lessons.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level History exams (if applicable).
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including debates, role-plays, and source analysis.
- Monitor student progress, providing targeted support to maximise achievement.
- Promote a love for history through extracurricular activities such as history clubs, trips, and guest lectures.
Ideal History Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in History, Education, or a related field.
- Experience or enthusiasm for teaching History at secondary level.
- A passion for storytelling, historical inquiry, and debate.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a History Teacher.
