Job description

There is a school that is looking for an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to support both teaching staff and students, making a positive impact on their learning experience. This role begins March 2025.

Duties as an HLTA:

 

  • Provide high-quality support to teachers and students across the curriculum
  • Work with individual or small groups of students, offering targeted interventions
  • Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons under the direction of the class teacher
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support with assessment and tracking of student progress
  • Promote student well-being and provide pastoral care when needed

Ideal HLTA:

 

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • HLTA status (or a willingness to work towards it)
  • Experience working in a primary school setting, ideally in a similar role
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team as an HLTA
  • A passion for supporting children's learning and development
