Job description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive school community. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. Subjects may include History, Geography, and Religious Studies, depending on expertise and experience. This role is for September 2025.
Duties as a Humanities Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Humanities subjects, fostering critical thinking and curiosity
- Differentiate teaching to meet the diverse needs of students and ensure progress for all
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
- Encourage students to develop independent learning skills and a passion for Humanities subjects
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the department
- Promote cross-curricular links and real-world applications of Humanities subjects
- Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level exams where applicable
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as trips, clubs, and whole-school events
Ideal Humanities Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in a relevant Humanities subject (History, Geography, Religious Studies, etc.)
- Experience teaching Humanities at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of all abilities
- A commitment to high expectations and inclusive teaching practices as a Humanities Teacher.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
