Job description

This school is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to join a vibrant and creative team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students to develop their musical talents, fostering a love for music and encouraging creativity across a range of musical styles and disciplines. This role begins March 2025.

Duties as a Music Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and possibly Key Stage 5
  • Teach a broad range of musical skills, including music theory, performance, and composition
  • Organise and lead extracurricular music activities, including choirs, ensembles, and school performances
  • Assess, track, and report on students’ progress, providing regular feedback and support for their development
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel confident in expressing their musical talents
  • Collaborate with the wider school community to promote and enhance music education and events
  • Contribute to the development of the music curriculum and support students in achieving their musical potential
  • Participate in staff meetings, departmental activities, and ongoing professional development

Ideal Music Teacher:

 

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching music across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and ideally Key Stage 5
  • Be passionate about music education and inspiring students to develop their musical skills
  • Be able to teach a range of musical disciplines, including performance, theory, and composition
  • Have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and performances as a Music Teacher.
  • Be a creative and engaging teacher who is committed to providing an inclusive learning experience
  • Have experience of leading music ensembles or extracurricular music groups (desirable)
