Job description

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a Secondary School in Cheshunt. The role is full time, and starting immediately, initially until the Christmas break but, at the schools discretion many be extended. It is a full time role and can involve working across different subjects and year groups. 

The position is at a combined Secondary School and Sixth Form, and strives to provide an inclusive curriculum that allows every individual to reach their full potential. The school are looking for a teacher who can make an impact in the school and help to create growing learning environment. 

Role:

  • Able to support the students in the class under the direction of the teacher
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
  • Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school
  • Ability to support students, on a whole class, small group and one to one basis, and encourage their progression
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement effectively

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working in either a Primary or Secondary School
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
  • SEND experience is desirable
