Duties as a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

• Assess, track, and report on student progress, setting high expectations and encouraging students to achieve their full potential
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and personal development
• Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities
• Maintain high standards of behaviour management and classroom discipline
• Contribute to the development of the [Subject] curriculum and participate in departmental meetings
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance students’ learning experiences
• Support and encourage students' personal, social, and emotional development
• Take part in extracurricular activities, school events, and enrichment opportunities

Ideal Secondary Teacher:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have experience or a strong understanding of teaching various Subjects at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Be passionate about teaching and inspiring young people
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and creative teaching strategies
• Be committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment
• Be a reflective practitioner who is eager to develop their skills and contribute to the school’s success as a Secondary Teacher
• (If applicable) Have experience teaching Key Stage 5 or a willingness to develop in this area
