Step Teachers are working with a mixed comprehensive Secondary school in Greenwich, who are seeking a Sociology Teacher to join them on a long-term part-time basis from January. The Sociology Teacher would be required 3 days a week (Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays). The school is a welcoming place, where pupils are kept safe and school leaders ensure pupils learn about the importance of equality and diversity. 

Sociology Teacher Role:

• Strong knowledge of the KS4 and KS5 sociology curriculum.
• Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources.
• Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom and throughout the school.
• Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback to help them to progress in their understanding of sociology.
• Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in sociology.
• Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these.

Sociology Teacher Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Good classroom management.
• Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching sociology in a secondary school.
• A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their best .
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young learners.
