Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and nurture pupils at a crucial stage in their education, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs of all students, ensuring progress and achievement for every child
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence, and a love of learning
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies as needed
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support the holistic development of each child
  • Promote high expectations of behaviour and achievement, encouraging pupils to reach their full potential
  • Participate in whole-school initiatives, extracurricular activities, and school events

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 5
  • A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching methods
  • A passion for education and a commitment to providing outstanding learning experiences
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a stimulating learning environment as a Year 5 Teacher
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to collaboration
