A short history of East Anglia's Norwich Branch:
Step Teachers had successfully supplied East Anglia’s schools with supply teachers since 2000 but it wasn’t until 2008 that we opened our second regional office in Norwich.
Our first office was at the Royal Business Centre, formally the Royal Hotel! What a stunning location to launch our first regional office. Located at the western end of Prince of Wales Road, at the junction with Agricultural Hall Plain, the building you see today was built to replace an old coaching inn of the same name which stood on Gentleman's Walk overlooking Norwich marketplace and was approximately half a mile from the present building.
By February 2012 we have moved to the historic Ber Street in Norwich City Centre between Queens Road and King Street. Ber Street was an ancient Roman street that was once one of the major routes into the city centre since the 12th century. We love our history at Step Teachers, our co-founder was a former history teacher.
We'd soon became the go to supply teaching agency for Norfolk and Suffolk schools and Kim and Jim had added Jamie and Alex to the team. A bigger team, meant a bigger office so in June 2014 we relocated to St Augustine’s right next to the medieval City Wall.
In what seems like a rapid 2 years the Norwich Steps family had outgrown the St Augustine’s office and in 2016 moved across the river to our current and permanent home on the grounds of Chalk Hill House just across from the banks of the river Wensum. Evolving considerably in the passed 15 years, the branch now recruits for teachers and support staff for schools in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Lincolnshire.
