Step Teachers are looking for a Cover Supervisor for a full time role in a Secondary School near Plymouth. The School are looking for a Cover Supervisor for general cover work across the curriculum starting in January 2025 initially for half a term with the potential to be extended. As a Cover Supervisor, you are the adult in charge of the class and can be a great way to gain experience in the classroom if you are think of a career as a Teacher.
This Secondary School sits on the outskirts of Plymouth and they are looking for someone who can embody the schools values, and have a positive impact on both the school and pupils. The school ethos is centred around the students, their individual goals and supporting them to reach their potential.
Cover Supervisor Role:
- Cover lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
- Ensure the class are on target with the pre-set work
- Effectively manage the behaviour of the class
- Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
- Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable
- Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Completed undergraduate degree or higher
- A genuine interest in working in education or to pursue a career in teaching
- Previous Cover Supervisor experience is desirable
