Job description
We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative Design Technology Teachers to join teams at schools around Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge across various aspects of Design and Technology. This role is for February 2025.
Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across [KS3/KS4/KS5].
- Teach specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, or Engineering.
- Encourage students to apply design thinking and practical skills to real-world challenges.
- Support students with coursework, projects, and exam preparation.
- Ensure a safe and well-equipped workshop environment, following health and safety regulations.
- Use modern technology, including CAD software, 3D printing, and laser cutting.
- Organise and participate in STEM clubs, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Design Technology, Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Experience teaching Design Technology at [Secondary/Post-16] level.
- Strong knowledge of materials, tools, and digital design software.
- Excellent practical skills and classroom management as a Design Technology Teacher.
- Passion for creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning.
- A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
