An ‘Outstanding’ all-girls school in Newham are seeking a teacher of design & technology to join them from Easter. This is a full-time maternity cover position that would be for at least 1 year. You will be expected to teach DT at KS3 and textiles at KS4 so previous experience of teaching textiles is essential. In its latest OFSTED commented that pupils develop an extremely strong sense of community and school leaders are determined that all pupils will succeed academically, and they listen attentively to their teachers and take pride in their work.

The Role:

• Strong knowledge of the DT and textiles curriculum.
• Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources.
• Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom and throughout the school.
• Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback to help them to progress.
• Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons.
• Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience teaching DT and textiles at the secondary level.
• A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their best.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young learners.
