Job description
This school is looking for a dedicated and inspiring English Teacher to join their vibrant team. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about English language and literature and who can inspire students to develop their skills, creativity, and love for reading and writing. This role begins September 2025.
Duties as an English Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach a range of English topics, including literature, language, writing, and grammar
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and independent learning in students
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
- Create a positive, inclusive, and dynamic classroom environment
- Work closely with colleagues to develop and share best teaching practices
- Support extracurricular activities such as drama clubs, literary events, or writing competitions
Ideal English Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- A strong passion for teaching English and the ability to inspire students
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach English at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5
- Strong classroom management skills and effective communication
- Experience teaching in secondary schools (or other relevant settings) is desirable
- A commitment to high standards of teaching and student development as an English Teacher.
