We are seeking a passionate and creative Film Studies Teacher to join a team at a prestigious school in Suffolk. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of film theory, history, and production techniques, inspiring students to explore the world of cinema through critical analysis and practical filmmaking. This is for September 2025.

Duties as a Film Studies Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging Film Studies lessons at [GCSE/A-Level/BTEC] level.
• Teach students about film theory, genre, narrative, cinematography, and industry contexts.
• Foster students' ability to critically analyse films from diverse cultures and time periods.
• Support students in practical filmmaking projects, including scriptwriting, editing, and production.
• Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Encourage creative thinking and independent research.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities such as film clubs, screenings, and media projects.

Ideal Film Studies Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (for school-based roles).
• A degree in Film Studies, Media Studies, or a related subject.
• Experience teaching Film Studies at [Secondary/Post-16] level.
• Strong knowledge of film theory, history, and production techniques.
• Ability to inspire and engage students with a love for film and media.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills as a Film Studies Teacher.
• A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
