Position: Food Technology Teacher

Type: Full-Time for at least the Autumn term with the prospect of extension for the full academic year.

Position Overview: Step Teachers are working with a school that are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher of Food Technology to join their vibrant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in food technology, fostering a passion for culinary arts, and ensuring students achieve their full potential in this dynamic subject area.

Food Technology Teacher Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards for food technology.
• As a Food Technology teacher, you will have the responsibility of instructing students in the principles and practices of food technology, including food preparation, nutrition, and safety.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and support individual learning needs.
• Maintain an organized and well-equipped food technology laboratory.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate food technology into broader educational initiatives.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with advancements in food technology education.

Food Technology Teacher Qualifications:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in food technology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching food technology at the secondary school level.
• Strong knowledge of food technology principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Passion for teaching and inspiring students in the field of food technology.
