Step Teachers are seeking an experienced General Science Teacher located in Plymouth commencing in September 2025. This full-time position is for 50 days initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as a General Science Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated science lessons to students at various ability levels.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that engages students and stimulates curiosity.
- Design and carry out practical experiments and investigations that complement theoretical knowledge.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with other members of the science department to enhance teaching strategies and curriculum delivery.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and wellbeing.
- Maintain and organize science lab resources and equipment to ensure safety and effective use.
To be considered for this General Science Teacher position, you will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in a science-related field.
- Experience teaching science in a secondary school setting (preferred, but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of the science curriculum and assessment methods.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring students to explore scientific concepts.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills as a General Science Teacher.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
