Job description

This is a vibrant and inclusive school committed to fostering a love for languages and cultural understanding. Their Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department plays a key role in developing students’ communication skills and broadening their global perspectives. We are seeking a passionate MFL Teacher to join their team and inspire students to become confident linguists. This role begins March 2025.

Duties as a Modern Foreign Languages Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in [French/Spanish/German/Other], following the National Curriculum.
  • Foster a love for languages through engaging teaching methods, including interactive activities, role-playing, and cultural exploration.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing targeted support and feedback.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in the target language.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the MFL curriculum and share best practices.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, language clubs, and international trips (where applicable).

Ideal Modern Foreign Languages Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in French/Spanish/German/Other or a related field.
  • Experience teaching MFL at Key Stage 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, if applicable).
  • A passion for languages and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills as a Modern Foreign Languages Teacher.
  • A commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
