Step Teachers are working with a Secondary School near Plymouth who are looking for a combined Music and Performing Arts Teacher to start in January 2025. This Music and Performing Arts Teacher role is a full time role to last for 1 full academic term. They school are looking for an experienced teacher to take on the planning and marking and work collaboratively other members of staff in the department
This Secondary School sits on the outskirts of Plymouth and they are looking for someone who can embody the schools values, and have a positive impact on both the school and pupils. The school ethos is centred around the students, their individual goals and supporting them to reach their potential.
Music and Performing Arts Teacher Role:
- Strong knowledge of the curriculum in Music and Performing Arts
- Able to maintain an organised classroom and performance areas, alongside professional use of associated instruments and resources.
- Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom and throughout the school
- Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback to help them to progress
- Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons
- Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these
Music and Performing Arts Teacher Requirements:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification
- Have recent mainstream school-based experience as an Music and/or Performing Arts Teacher
- Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
- A relevant Music or Performing Arts related degree is desirable
- SEND experience is desirable
