Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Step Teachers is collaborating with a primary school in Enfield to find a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a small group of Year 3 children. This role is set to commence in November 2024 on a long-term supply basis. The school is keen to extend this for someone who can make a positive impact on both the school and students.

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Role:

• Able to support the students in the class under the direction of the class teacher.
• Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed.
• Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school.
• Ability to support students, on a whole class, small group and one to one basis, and encourage their progression.
• Willing to comply with the schools’ policies and implement effectively.

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Requirements:

• Recent experience working in as an SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Certificate) is desirable but not essential.
• SEND experience is desirable
