Step Teachers are seeking an experienced SEN Primary School Teacher located in New Southgate commencing in February 2025. This full-time position is for half a term initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as a SEN Primary School Teacher:

• Plan and deliver tailored lessons for children with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.
• Differentiate lessons and resources to ensure all students can access the curriculum at their individual level.
• Work closely with teaching assistants to provide support for children both individually and in small groups.
• Track and monitor the progress of students, adjusting teaching methods and strategies to meet their needs.
• Collaborate with external agencies, such as educational psychologists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to support the development of students with additional needs.
• Provide a safe and positive learning environment where students feel valued and confident.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress.
• Participate in regular professional development and contribute to whole-school initiatives related to SEN provision.

To be considered for this SEN Primary School Teacher position, you will:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
• Experience working as a SEN Primary School Teacher.
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and SEN legislation.
• Knowledge of strategies for supporting children with a wide range of additional needs.
• Ability to differentiate learning activities and resources effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working closely with colleagues, parents, and outside professionals.
• A patient, empathetic approach and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
