Job description

There are dedicated and inclusive schools around Norwich that aims to provide high-quality education to all students. We are looking for a skilled and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their team and support students with special educational needs in a positive and supportive learning environment. Beginning April 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver personalised lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with special educational needs.

  • Work closely with the SENCO and other professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).

  • Provide support to students both in and outside of the classroom, ensuring they are fully included in all activities.

  • Use a range of strategies and resources to help students reach their full potential.

  • Monitor and assess the progress of students, providing feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed.

  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other school staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Ideal SEN Teacher:

 

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS) and experience teaching students with special educational needs.

  • Knowledge of strategies and interventions for students with a range of learning difficulties.

  • The ability to differentiate lessons and provide tailored support for individual students.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team as a SEN Teacher.

  • A compassionate and patient approach to teaching, with a focus on improving student outcomes.
