A school in Abingdon is looking for a skilled and organised Design Technology Technician to support the teaching of Design and Technology. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and creative environment, helping to inspire the next generation of designers and engineers. This role begins ASAP.
Duties as a Design Technology Technician:
Prepare and maintain equipment, tools, and materials for practical lessons
Support teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring health and safety standards are met
Assist in setting up and dismantling projects and demonstrations
Carry out routine maintenance of workshop tools and machinery
Ensure a safe and organised working environment in the Design Technology department
Manage stock levels and order materials when necessary
Provide technical support for a range of design and technology subjects, including woodwork, metalwork, electronics, and graphics
Ideal Design Technology Technician:
Experience working in a workshop, school, or technical environment (desirable but not essential)
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting
Practical skills in handling tools and machinery
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills as a Design Technology Technician.
A willingness to support students and teachers in a hands-on learning environment
