Are you a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a difference in the lives of kids with complex needs? Step Teachers are working with a Primary school in Girton and are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school that advocates high goals while also contributing to student progress. The position long-term role and it will commence in January 2025.
Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, assisting with their educational and personal development.
- The SEN Teaching Assistant should assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
- Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, promoting independence and confidence.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement tailored support plans for students with SEN.
- The SEN Teaching Assistant should maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to comprehensive assessments and reports.
Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Previously working as a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience in a mainstream school.
- Level 3 qualification is desirable.
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Ability to adhere to relevant procedures and guidelines and put them into practice.
- Minimum of 1 year of working within a school setting experience of Autism Spectrum conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- SEN experience is essential.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in different educational settings.
