Job description

You’ll be joining a compassionate, experienced team committed to providing high-quality, personalised learning for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a SEND Teacher:

 

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning profiles and EHCPs

  • Create a calm, safe and inspiring classroom environment

  • Collaborate closely with support staff, SENCO, therapists and families

  • Use assessment and observation to track progress and inform planning

  • Champion inclusion and pupil voice at every level

  • Help students build confidence, independence and self-belief

Ideal SEND Teacher:

 

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised qualification

  • A strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practice

  • Experience teaching pupils with additional needs (mainstream or specialist setting)

  • Empathy, patience, creativity – and a strong belief in every child’s potential

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills as a SEND Teacher.

  • Knowledge of EHCP processes and strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, or Zones of Regulation is a plus
