Job description

Step Teachers is working closely with a Primary School in New Barnet which was rated "Good" under the former Ofsted rating for schools to find a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time starting in January 2025. This school prides itself on their ability to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment for their students, and is committed to helping each child reach their full potential.

Teaching Assistant - Role:

  • Making a positive impact on the lives of children with diverse learning needs.
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivery of activities.
  • Supporting the development of children’s language and communication skills.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and providing pastoral support to children when required.
  • Providing feedback to parents and carers on children’s progress and achievements.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Requirements:

  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream Primary classroom.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
