Job description

Step Teachers are seeking a Teaching Assistant located in Enfield. commencing in March 2025. This full-time position is for 1 term, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

In an affluent location, this school, boasts a 'good' rating in all five Ofsted categories. It places a high value on fostering the intellectual growth of students and staff.

Your duties as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups, providing targeted support to meet their learning needs.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials and resources.
  • Help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • Provide personal care and support to students as required.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
  • Contribute to the development of tailored learning plans for students with additional needs.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of extra-curricular activities, where applicable.

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you will:

 

  • Have a passion for working with children and supporting their learning.
  • Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards helping students succeed.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Have experience or an understanding of supporting students with special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
  • Hold a relevant qualification such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Be proactive, reliable, and adaptable to the needs of the class and individual students.
