Step Teachers are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant located in New Southgate commencing in February 2025. This full-time position is for 5 days initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as a Teaching Assistant:
- Support the classroom teacher in the delivery of engaging lessons and activities.
- Work with small groups or individual students to provide additional support where needed.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Provide help to students with special educational needs (SEN), adapting learning tasks to meet individual needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by encouraging students to participate and engage.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior support, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Supervise students during non-classroom times such as breaks, lunch, and outdoor activities.
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you will:
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them achieve their potential.
- Previous experience working with children (in an educational or child-related setting) is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to a variety of learning needs as a Teaching Assistant.
