Job description

Step Teachers are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant located in Enfield commencing in February 2025. This full-time position is for 11 days initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

This school, boasts  an 'outstanding' rating from Ofsted. It places a high value on fostering the intellectual growth of students and staff. 

Your duties as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the teacher in delivering lessons and activities for students across various subjects.
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support, including for students with additional learning needs.
  • Help with the preparation and organization of learning materials and classroom resources.
  • Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback to the teacher as needed.
  • Support students with their emotional and social development, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Assist in the delivery of one-to-one and small group interventions as required.
  • Help supervise students during breaks, lunchtime, and school activities.

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you will:

  • Have experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Demonstrate a caring, patient, and supportive attitude toward students.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be proactive, flexible, and able to adapt to the varying needs of students.
  • Have a passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Hold relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent) or be willing to work toward them.
