Job description

Class Act are seeking a Teaching Assistant located in Oxford commencing in April 2025. This full-time position is for 2 months initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Provide individual or small group support to students, helping them with their learning.
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and materials.
  • Monitor and support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during breaks, lunchtimes, and transitions.
  • Support students with additional needs or English as a second language, as required.
  • Help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Contribute to the assessment of students' progress and development.
  • Work closely with other staff members.

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you will:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning.
  • Experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Education, or a related field (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students and staff.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude as a Teaching Assistant
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
