Job description

Class Act are seeking a Teaching Assistant located in Oxford commencing in April 2025. This full-time position is for 14 days initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

This is a nurturing and inclusive primary school with a strong focus on providing high-quality early years education. They boast a good rating on Ofsted.

Your duties as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing a stimulating and engaging learning environment for nursery-aged children.
  • Support children with their personal development, including their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
  • Help children with activities that support early learning, such as play-based learning, language development, and creative tasks.
  • Provide individual or small group support for children with additional needs or English as a second language.
  • Help with classroom organization and the preparation of learning resources and activities.
  • Support children during snack times, playtimes, and other daily routines.
  • Observe and monitor children's progress and provide feedback to the teacher as part of developmental assessments.
  • Work closely with other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the Nursery setting.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you will:

  • A genuine love for working with young children and a passion for early years education.
  • Experience working with children in a Nursery or Early Years setting is desirable.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (or equivalent).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with young children.
  • Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach to working with children.
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children as a Teaching Assistant
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
