Job description

There is a school looking for a motivated and enthusiastic After-School Club Teaching Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will be supporting the After-School Club’s daily activities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for children after school hours. This position offers the opportunity to work with children, fostering their creativity, social development, and well-being.

Your duties as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Supervise children during the After-School Club, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Organize and lead a variety of fun and educational activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and homework support.
  • Build positive relationships with children, encouraging good behavior and social interactions.
  • Assist children with completing homework or school projects, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure that children follow the rules and guidelines for the club, promoting respect and responsibility.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
  • Communicate with parents and school staff to ensure the needs of the children are met.
  • Help with snack preparation and ensure that dietary requirements are met.
  • Work with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the After-School Club program.

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you must have:

  • Experience working with children (in a school or childcare setting) is preferred.
  • A friendly, caring attitude with the ability to engage with children and provide a positive experience.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to supervise and manage a group of children effectively and safely.
  • Organized, punctual, and flexible.
  • A current DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is required.
