Job description
We are looking for a caring and dedicated Reception Year Teaching Assistant to support young learners in their first year of school. You will play a key role in helping children develop essential skills, supporting their social and emotional well-being, and fostering a positive learning environment in the early stages of their education. We are looking for someone to begin ASAP in February 2025.
Duties as a Teaching Assistant:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons.
- Support children with their early learning, including literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Help children with personal care, ensuring their well-being throughout the school day.
- Work with small groups and individual children to reinforce learning and provide additional support.
- Encourage children’s independence and confidence through play and structured activities.
- Monitor and record children’s progress, helping to identify their individual needs.
- Support classroom management and promote positive behaviour.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years Education (or equivalent).
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a Reception or early years setting.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
