Job description

This is a welcoming and inclusive primary school dedicated to nurturing and inspiring their pupils to achieve their full potential. They provide a stimulating learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 2 and Year 3. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to provide high-quality support, helping children transition smoothly between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This role begins April 2025.

Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Assist in the delivery of engaging lessons, supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted support in core subjects.
  • Help children develop independence and confidence as they progress through school.
  • Support children with SEND and those who require additional guidance.
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources and activities.
  • Supervise and engage with children during break times and lunchtimes.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Experience working with primary-aged children, particularly in Year 2 and Year 3.
  • A passion for supporting children’s learning and well-being.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach as a Year2/3 Teaching Assistant.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
