Job description

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025 and work alongside the class teacher to support students in their academic and personal development.

Duties as a Year 3 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons, activities, and interventions to the Year 3 students.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, particularly those with additional learning needs or challenges.

  • Help with classroom management, creating a positive and effective learning environment.

  • Prepare and organise resources for lessons, ensuring that all materials are ready and accessible.

  • Support students with their social and emotional development, encouraging positive behaviour and interactions.

  • Monitor student progress and assist with assessments, providing feedback to the teacher.

  • Support students during break times and assist with their wellbeing.

  • Work closely with other staff members to ensure a collaborative approach to learning and development.

Ideal Year 3 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.

  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a Year 3 Teaching Assistant.

  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting students’ individual needs.

  • A positive attitude and a passion for working with children.

  • Ability to engage children in learning and support them to achieve their best.
