This great school is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join a committed team. You’ll play a vital role in developing the next generation of designers, engineers, and critical thinkers through engaging, real-world projects. Starting September 2025.

Duties as Design Technology Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver stimulating lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Develop pupils’ creative, practical, and analytical skills through project-based learning

  • Teach safe and effective use of tools, machinery and design software (e.g. CAD/CAM)

  • Track pupil progress and provide timely, constructive feedback

  • Foster a culture of innovation, resilience, and problem-solving

  • Manage and maintain a well-organised, safe workshop environment

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enrich the broader STEM curriculum

  • Contribute to extracurricular clubs, competitions, and showcase events

Ideal Design Technology Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A relevant degree or equivalent in Design Technology or a related subject

  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more DT specialisms

  • Enthusiasm for hands-on, practical teaching and learning

  • Good classroom management and communication skills as a Design Technology Teacher.

  • A reflective, forward-thinking approach and willingness to innovate

  • Experience with health and safety procedures in a workshop setting
