Job description

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for Graduate Cover Supervisors. We are especially busy in Hoddesdon and are currently working with a school who are looking for someone 3 days per week; we also work with multiple other schools in the area who require daily supply cover work. 

We work with a variety of schools in and around Hoddesdon. The role of a Cover Supervisor will allow you to gain teaching experience in a variety of secondary schools and experience what it is like to be in front of a class. This is also good way to build your confidence as a teacher and can be a great route to take if you are considering doing your teacher training in the future. 

Role:

  • Cover lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure the class are on target with the pre-set work
  • Effectively manage the behaviour of the class
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Completed undergraduate degree or higher
