Position: History and RE Teacher

Location: Tower Hamlets

Start Date: September 2024 

Type: Part-time (3 days a week)

An exciting opportunity awaits you at a high achieving all-girls school in Tower Hamlets. The school are seeking a part-time teacher of History and RE to join them from September. The part-time teacher of history and RE will teach at key stage 3. You will be expected to teach on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The school is easily accessible by public transport from the surrounding areas of London. In its latest OFSTED report the student’s behaviour was noted as ‘excellent’ and teachers and pupils alike create a calm and harmonious atmosphere in the classroom and around the school.

 History and RE Teacher - Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the history curriculum.
  • Previous RE teaching experience is also desired.
  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources.
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom and throughout the school.
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback to help them to progress.
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons.
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these.

 History and RE Teacher - Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching history and RE at secondary level.
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their best.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young learners.
  • A desire to contribute to the vibrant school community and engage in extracurricular activities.
