We are seeking a patient, caring and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs at a wonderful school. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children thrive – both academically and emotionally – in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide dedicated support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including those with EHCPs

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions and personalised learning

• Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in all aspects of school life

• Support the development of pupils’ communication, social skills, and independence

• Assist with behaviour management using consistent, positive strategies

• Adapt resources and provide differentiated activities to meet individual needs

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to assessments and reviews

• Liaise effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Has experience working with children with SEND, including autism, speech and language needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties

• Is calm, resilient, and adaptable in a busy school environment

• Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

• Has a strong understanding of inclusive practice and child development

• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils

• (Desirable) Holds a relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
