Job description

Duties as a Humanities Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking Humanities lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Teach History, Geography, Religious Studies, or a mix of Humanities subjects across KS3, KS4, KS5.
  • Encourage students to think critically, analyse sources, and engage in meaningful discussions.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies, resources, and technology to enhance learning.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support.
  • Foster a positive learning environment where students feel inspired and challenged.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring lessons remain engaging and relevant.
  • Organise and participate in educational trips, fieldwork, or extracurricular activities to enhance learning experiences.

Ideal Humanities Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Humanities at [KS3/KS4/KS5].
  • A strong subject knowledge in [History, Geography, Religious Studies, or a combination].
  • A passion for inspiring young minds and fostering a love for learning.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to engage students through dynamic and interactive teaching methods.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, working collaboratively with colleagues as a Humanitites Teacher.
  • A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
