Step Teachers is seeking a passionate and experienced P.E. Teacher to join our partner school team in Peterborough for a long-term role starting in April 2024.
Position Overview: As a P.E. Teacher, you will play a crucial role in inspiring and motivating students to develop their physical abilities, sportsmanship, and overall well-being. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging P.E. lessons that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our students, promoting active participation and enjoyment of physical activities both within and outside the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities of a P.E Teacher:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic and inclusive P.E. lessons in line with the national curriculum and school policies.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to achieve their full potential in physical activities and sports.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
- Organize and lead extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and events to enhance students' opportunities for participation and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular links and integrate P.E. with other subjects and school initiatives.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting open communication and teamwork.
Requirements of a P.E Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in P.E. education.
- Proven experience as a P.E Teacher
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for P.E. and current educational trends in physical education.
- Passion for promoting physical activity, health, and well-being among students.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to participate in physical activities and develop a lifelong interest in sports.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and learning.
