Step Teachers are working alongside an ‘Outstanding’ all-girls secondary school in Lambeth who is looking to appoint a Physical Education Subject Lead for a full-time permanent role in September.
The Physical Education Subject Lead will be working at a school that is ambitious, collaborative, diverse and dynamic where innovative teaching and learning are the norm, and everyone’s talents and aspirations are recognised, developed, and rewarded. The school achieved its third consecutive ‘Outstanding’ rating by OFSTED in December 2023.
The school is looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced PE teacher as their new Physical Education Subject Lead to head their PE department. This is an exciting opportunity to join an outstanding school in its drive for excellence and continuous improvement and they are looking for applicants who have a proven record of accomplishment of success, have a positive approach and are determined to make a difference to the lives of our young people.
To be considered for the Physical Education Subject Lead role you will need:
- Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum at all key stages.
- Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons and have responsibility for overall curriculum planning and development.
- Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school.
- Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback.
- Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these.
Requirements:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in secondary school.
- Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching PE at the secondary school level.
- Have a good level of behaviour management.
- A relevant PE/Sport-related degree.
