Job description

We are seeking a passionate Religious Studies Teacher to inspire pupils to explore different religions, cultures, and ethical perspectives in a meaningful way. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as a Religious Studies Teacher:

 

  • Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Teach a broad and balanced Religious Studies curriculum that encourages critical thinking and open-minded discussion.
  • Support pupils in developing an understanding of different faiths, worldviews, and moral issues.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Encourage respect, tolerance, and debate in a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop teaching resources and strategies.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities.

Ideal Religious Studies Teacher:

 

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Religious Studies in a secondary school setting.
  • Is passionate about exploring diverse perspectives and encouraging meaningful discussions.
  • Has excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Religious Studies Teacher.
  • Is committed to promoting a culture of respect and understanding within the school.
