At this school, we are dedicated to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment for all their pupils, where each child’s needs are supported in their learning journey. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with a child with special educational needs, providing tailored support to ensure they can access the curriculum and thrive in school. This role begins April 2025.
Duties as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs, assisting them with their learning and personal development
Help the pupil to access the curriculum by adapting materials and activities as needed
Support the pupil in building their social and emotional skills, ensuring they feel included and engaged in class
Work closely with the class teacher to implement individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
Monitor the pupil’s progress, providing feedback and reporting to the class teacher and SENCO
Assist in behaviour management strategies and ensure the pupil feels supported throughout the day
Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, supporting the pupil in developing independence and confidence
Ideal SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:
Has experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school or educational setting
Holds or is working towards a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Has a genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed in school
Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with children, staff, and parents
Is patient, empathetic, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs and circumstances
Has a flexible, proactive approach and can work effectively within a team as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant.
