At this school, we are dedicated to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment for all their  pupils, where each child’s needs are supported in their learning journey. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with a child with special educational needs, providing tailored support to ensure they can access the curriculum and thrive in school. This role begins April 2025.

Duties as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:

• Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs, assisting them with their learning and personal development

• Help the pupil to access the curriculum by adapting materials and activities as needed

• Support the pupil in building their social and emotional skills, ensuring they feel included and engaged in class

• Work closely with the class teacher to implement individual learning plans and behaviour strategies

• Monitor the pupil’s progress, providing feedback and reporting to the class teacher and SENCO

• Assist in behaviour management strategies and ensure the pupil feels supported throughout the day

• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, supporting the pupil in developing independence and confidence

Ideal SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:

• Has experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school or educational setting

• Holds or is working towards a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

• Has a genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed in school

• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with children, staff, and parents

• Is patient, empathetic, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs and circumstances

• Has a flexible, proactive approach and can work effectively within a team as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant.
