Step Teachers are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant located in Hackney commencing in February 2025. This daily position is for 3 months initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as a Teaching Assistant:
- Support students with their learning by assisting with classwork, providing extra help where needed, and working with small groups or individual students.
- Help students to stay on task, manage their behavior, and promote positive learning experiences.
- Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and materials to support lessons.
- Provide pastoral support to students, helping them to feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to learn.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or other additional needs as directed by the class teacher and SENCO.
- Assist with the supervision of students during break times and other non-teaching activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents when required.
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you will:
- Experience working with children in an educational or care setting (desirable but not essential).
- A genuine passion for helping children to learn and grow.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a Teaching Assistant.
- The ability to work well in a team and show initiative when needed.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- A good understanding of how to support students with varying learning needs.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
