Step Teachers are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant located in Hackney commencing in February 2025. This daily position is for 3 months initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as a Teaching Assistant:

• Support students with their learning by assisting with classwork, providing extra help where needed, and working with small groups or individual students.
• Help students to stay on task, manage their behavior, and promote positive learning experiences.
• Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and materials to support lessons.
• Provide pastoral support to students, helping them to feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to learn.
• Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or other additional needs as directed by the class teacher and SENCO.
• Assist with the supervision of students during break times and other non-teaching activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents when required.

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Experience working with children in an educational or care setting (desirable but not essential).
• A genuine passion for helping children to learn and grow.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a Teaching Assistant.
• The ability to work well in a team and show initiative when needed.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• A good understanding of how to support students with varying learning needs.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
