Are you a creative and nurturing teacher ready to guide children through the exciting first steps of Key Stage 1?

At this vibrant school, we’re looking for a passionate Year 1 Teacher who can make learning magical while supporting the vital transition from play-based to structured learning. Their school is inclusive, forward-thinking, and committed to helping every child thrive. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a Year 1 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that meet the needs of all learners

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive learning

  • Use assessment data to inform teaching and track pupil progress

  • Support children’s social and emotional development, especially during the transition from EYFS

  • Lead daily phonics and develop pupils' early reading, writing, and numeracy skills

  • Liaise with parents/carers, keeping them informed of progress and working in partnership

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, including support staff and subject leads

  • Contribute to school life through clubs, events, and enrichment opportunities

  • Engage in ongoing CPD and reflective practice to continually improve

Ideal Year 1 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A strong understanding of early years development and KS1 expectations

  • Creativity in lesson planning, with strong phonics and early literacy skills as a Year 1 Teacher.

  • Excellent communication, behaviour management, and classroom organisation

  • A kind, reflective approach with a genuine passion for primary teaching
